This week we are proud to celebrate National Veterinary Technician Week, a time to recognize the hardworking, compassionate, and skilled team members who are the backbone of veterinary medicine.
At our practice, veterinary technicians—both certified (CVTs) and non-certified—play an essential role in patient care and client support. They are the steady hands that comfort nervous pets, the attentive eyes that notice subtle changes in a patient’s condition, and the knowledgeable voices that guide pet owners through treatment plans.
What Our Technicians Do Every Day
Our technicians are involved in nearly every aspect of veterinary care, including:
- Monitoring anesthesia and assisting during surgeries
- Collecting and processing lab samples
- Performing dental cleanings
- Taking radiographs (X-rays)
- Educating pet owners on preventive care and treatment at home
- Providing TLC to pets when they need it most
While many of these responsibilities are shared across the team, our Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) bring an added layer of formal training and state certification. Their credentialing reflects years of dedicated education, clinical experience, and a commitment to continuing education. Having CVTs on our team ensures that our patients benefit from the highest standards of veterinary medical care.
A Team That Makes a Difference
Whether certified or not, every technician at our practice shares one common goal: to provide the best possible care to every patient and support every client who walks through our doors. Their dedication, skill, and compassion are what make our clinic a place where pets thrive and families feel supported.
Thank You, Veterinary Technicians!
To all of our veterinary technicians, we want to say thank you. Your work often happens behind the scenes, but it never goes unnoticed. You are healers, caregivers, advocates, and educators—and this week, and every week, we are grateful for you.
