Dr. Godwin was in the Charter Class of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, obtaining his DVM in 1980. His surgical interests are in orthopedics, hemilaminectomy for degenerative disc disease, and ear cropping.  He has been performing TTAs for cruciate injuries since 2008.  Dr. Godwin has been a member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society since 1994, and served as treasurer of the group from 2007-2013. He also served as president of the Brevard County VMA and the Florida VMA, and was selected Florida Veterinarian of the Year in 2002. Dr. Godwin also performs endoscopy and is licensed to provide radioiodine therapy for cats with hyperthyroidism.
